The musical that swept the 1997 Tony awards with its moving story and powerful score faithfully tells the tale through the eyes of crew and passengers alike: Barrett, the stoker whose fiancé awaits his return; immigrants who yearn for a better life in America; Isidor Straus (owner of Macy's) and his wife Ida who refuses to leave his side; and Titanic’s architect Thomas Andrews, who despairs in his ship’s flaws as she begins her inevitable descent.
